Your notes stay yours

Privacy Policy

Quiet Draft is designed to work without accounts, advertising, analytics, or developer-operated servers. Your notes are stored on your device and, when available, in your personal iCloud account.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how the Quiet Draft application for iPhone and iPad (the “App”) handles information. It also explains the limited technical processing that may occur when you visit this website.

2. Information handled by the App

The App may handle the following information when you choose to create it:

  • note text, formatting, checklists, titles, and modification dates;
  • photos you take or select and attach to a note;
  • note order, Trash state, and copies created to prevent data loss during conflicts;
  • local preferences such as your selected appearance and a random storage identifier used to order revisions and resolve synchronization conflicts.

Quiet Draft does not require an account with the developer. The App does not include advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, cross-app tracking, or profiling. The random storage identifier is not used to identify you or track your activity.

3. Camera and photo library

Camera and photo-library access is requested only when you choose to take or attach a photo. Selected images become part of the note and are stored using the same storage method as that note. Quiet Draft does not scan or upload the rest of your photo library.

4. Storage and iCloud

Notes and attachments are stored locally in the App’s private container. When iCloud Drive is available for the App, Quiet Draft also stores synchronized copies in your personal Apple iCloud container so your notes can be available across your devices.

iCloud synchronization is provided by Apple and is governed by your Apple account settings and Apple’s terms and privacy policy. The developer does not operate a server that receives or stores the contents of your notes.

To reduce the risk of data loss, the App may retain note revisions and may create a clearly identified conflict copy when the same note is changed independently on more than one device.

5. Sharing, export, and third parties

When you choose Share, PDF export, or another system action, the selected content is passed to the destination you choose through Apple’s system interfaces. The privacy practices of that destination apply after you share the content.

Apart from Apple services needed for the optional iCloud functionality and the destinations you explicitly select, Quiet Draft does not disclose your notes to third parties.

6. Retention and deletion

Your notes remain on your device and, when enabled, in iCloud until you delete them. Notes placed in Trash remain recoverable until you permanently delete them. Permanent deletion removes the note, its attachments, and its stored revision files from Quiet Draft’s containers. iCloud may require time to propagate the deletion to other devices.

You can remove all App data by permanently deleting your notes and then deleting the App. Data already synchronized to iCloud may also be managed through your Apple account and iCloud settings.

7. Security

Quiet Draft relies on iOS and iCloud security controls, including application sandboxing and the protections associated with your device and Apple account. No storage system can guarantee absolute security, so keeping your device software and Apple account protections up to date remains important.

8. This website

This website does not use advertising, analytics, tracking pixels, or cookies. Its hosting provider may process standard request information, such as an IP address, user agent, and timestamps, to deliver the site and maintain security. That processing is governed by the hosting provider’s own terms and privacy practices.

9. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when Quiet Draft’s functionality or legal obligations change. The date at the top of this page identifies the latest version.
